Library Week 2025
Theme: ‘The Library, between Tradition and Innovation’
Date: October 6-12, 2025
The National Library of Kosovo invites researchers, professionals in the fields of libraries, archives, museums, information technology, culture, and education, as well as all interested individuals, to submit their papers for participation in Library Week 2025.
Library Week will be held under the theme:
“The Library, Between Tradition and Innovation”,
focusing on the role of libraries in preserving cultural heritage and advancing services in the digital age.
Suggested general topics include:
– The role of libraries in preserving cultural heritage;
– Technological innovations in library services;
– Libraries as community and educational centres;
– Digitization of collections and archives;
– The importance of libraries as centres of knowledge and culture;
– Challenges and perspectives for libraries in the digital age;
– The role of libraries in promoting reading;
– Copyright and libraries;
– Challenges in archiving and restoring old materials;
– Initiatives for digitizing manuscripts and important documents;
– The impact of artificial intelligence and e-books on the libraries of the future;
– The impact of artificial intelligence in libraries;
– The role of the e-book in modern libraries.
Guidelines for abstract submission:
– Abstract length: up to 300 words;
– Language: Albanian or English;
– Deadline for abstract submission: May 20, 2025;
– Notification of accepted papers: June 1, 2025;
– Final paper submission deadline: September 5, 2025;
– Abstracts should be sent to: Info.bkk@rks-gov.net
All abstracts will undergo a review process by the relevant committee. Selected authors will be notified about their inclusion in the official program of Library Week.
